So if you’ve been following along you’ll kind of get the jist of this whole #consciouschristmas. If not, have a quick read at my prior blog post here. This is my first post in the series and what better way to get the Christmas spirit […]
Month: November 2017
“The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences
and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing
horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”
When Dan and I found out we were unexpectedly pregnant with Odin it was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences we have had together – but it didn’t take long for excitement to hit and we were over the moon for him to come and we couldn’t wait! He is now almost 18 months and an energetic little rugrat, forever getting into everything and throwing temper tantrums. But he is such a sweetheart is becoming more and more affectionate, we love it!
So, if you couldn’t guess what was coming next…
we’ll just “insert baby #2 announcement here.”
This precious new bundle of love is coming into our lives in Spring 2018. A brand new baby with a new personality and new love to give! While this time around things were planned, and he or she will be our little rainbow baby, I cant help but be slightly fearful. Even though first trimester scares have long since gone I’m more fearful now of what is to come.
I find I’m constantly questioning myself and instigating my own fear. “Am I prepared, am I capable, can I handle a two-year old and a newborn?” I’ve always said I wanted to be a mother of 4-6 kids so I definitely shouldn’t be weary of two children! Thinking deeply though, I believe it comes down to being fearful of new changes, challenges and the biggest culprit of all is self-doubt. Which us mothers are so good at. But I strive to be a strong mama bear and we may always doubt ourselves but in the end always know what to do, right?!
I’ve had to take a moment to reflect on a favourite quote of mine and give myself a pep-talk. Ignite the fire in my soul for new experiences, love and adventure and ditch the fear that is surrounding this amazing time in our lives. We live for new love and new life and motherhood is our biggest adventure.
